An award created in memory of two entrepreneurs from the Coreno Ausonio marble district, dedicated every year to university research and the ideas of local young people.
Pino and Amilcare Mattei were two entrepreneurs from the Coreno Ausonio marble district, who passed away suddenly in November 2014. Their work contributed for years to the success of Perlato Royal marble and to a supply chain capable of valorizing even its processing by-products.
To honor their commitment and their bond with the community, the Consorzio Industriale del Lazio established a degree award in their memory, dedicated to the area's young people.
Over the years the award has been open to graduates and undergraduates of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, and in some editions also to high school students from the area's municipalities, with theses and ideas related to the marble district.
Exact requirements, categories, and deadlines are set each year in the official call for entries.
The award was created through the efforts of the Consorzio Industriale del Lazio, together with institutions and businesses from the marble district.
